Newtown Juvenile Charged with First-Degree Sexual Assault

Police say the boy inappropriately touched three girls and one boy.

A Newtown boy is scheduled to appear in juvenile court Monday concerning allegations that he sexually assaulted three girls and one boy.

The unidentified juvenile was arrested by warrant April 15 on charges of first-degree sexual assault and impairing the morals of a minor.

Police said the arrest stems from an incident that took place at a private residence in town in 2012. Police declined to give the exact age of the accused and the victims, but said all were between the ages of six and 12 years old at the time. The accused is the oldest of the group, according to police.

Police said one of the victims told parents about the alleged sexual assault in February of this year, and they in turn contacted police, which kicked off an investigation that concluded with the arrest on April 15.

Police said no further charges are expected, as this was an isolated incident.
