Motorcyclist Sent to Hospital After Rte. 7 Crash in Ridgefield

Suffered "significant injuries," police said.

A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital after he drove into the back of a vehicle on Rte. 7 this past Saturday in Ridgefield.

Ridgefield Police said a car had stopped in the southbound lane of Rte. 7 in order to turn left into the Ridgefield BMW Dealership when a motorcycle, also traveling southbound, crashed into the stopped vehicle at 12:00 p.m.

Police said that the motorcyclist, identified as Anthony Grevi, 45, of Mill Plain Road, Danbury, was transported to Danbury Hospital for “significant injuries” after the crash. Grevi was issued a warning for following too close.

Police identified driver of the stopped vehicle as David Suarez, 46, of Hayfield Road, New Milford.

The motorcycle and the other vehicle were towed due to “extensive damage”, reports state.

The Ridgefield Police Department is investigating the incident.

I'm not a highway designer either, but I do have common sense. If I saw the plans before it was built, first thing I'd point out is we are making the road faster, but not adding any of the standard highway safety features. I feel John should have pointed this out.

Simply PUT PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE. They are constantly distracted talking on phones and texting. Just ride around ridgefield for 2 minutes and you will see someone on the phone. Not only teenagers but grown up men and women with a car full of kids gabbing on the phone. This past summer i as usual see the same realtors with their tops down and driving their Mercedes Benz gabbing on the phone. The realtor has a plate identifies the person in QUESTION and who she is. With this and the trend people are involved in accidents. Yesterday i was on 84 just past exit 4 and in the right lane. A women was trying to get on to the highway. She was right next to my car and ran out of the approach lane. She hit her horn and gave me the FINGER. Guess she does not know how to enter and leave a HIGHWAY. You are supposed to enter and leave all highways at the posted speed limit. But clearly this women was never taught this. PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE PERIOD!!!
