Man Faces a Dozen Charges After Newtown Police Chase

The following arrest information was supplied by the Newtown and State Police Departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Shelton man faces a medley of charges following a police chase in Newtown.

According to police, Michael Macy, 39, of Shelton, was charged with the following on July 2 at 7:30 p.m. following a police pursuit on Interstate 84 East in Newtown:

  • DUI
  • Possessing weapons in a vehicle
  • Interfering with an officer
  • Second-degree reckless endangerment
  • Reckless driving
  • Failure to obey an officer’s signal
  • Violation of traffic regulations
  • Failure to have vehicle insurance
  • Failure to keep right
  • Failure to drive in the proper lane
  • Failure to obey a control signal
  • Improper hand signaling

Macy was held on $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on July 3.
