Lost and Found Pets: Beagle Found, Cat lost

A female beagle was found in the Hattertown area, and has been staying at the dog pound since Aug. 29.

A Williams Road woman called Easton Police when she saw a beagle wandering around on Hattertown Road in the morning on Aug. 29. She took the dog to her house and held it for a Monroe Animal Control officer.

Police said there was no match for a missing beagle in the area and that both Easton and Newtown animal control were notified.

The beagle, whose estimated age is between 2 and 10 years, is still staying at the Monroe Animal Shelter at 447 Purdy Hill Road. An animal control officer said she has named the dog "Beatrice".

If the owner or someone interested in adopting the beagle reads this, the phone number for Monroe Animal Control is 203-452-3760.

Owner Marina Deyle has asked Patch to help her find her missing cat. Ziggy, a medium size, two-and-a-half year old black cat, has been missing for a little over a month now, and the family really misses him.  He was last seen in the Rt 25/Prospect Terrace area.

Marina wrote, "He's a black cat, with a scar under his left front leg from before we adopted him. He will come when called like a dog. He was last wearing a pink flea collar in the Newtown area. We've made posters but haven't had a ton of luck.  Please please help us find Ziggy. We are offering a reward! Thank you!"

Marina asks that if you see him, please call Dan: 860 921 8549 Marina: 210 392 0048 or Julie: 203 304 9156. "Thank you thank you thank you," she said, and asked readers to please share!
