I-84 West Near Newtown Closed Following Accident

Accident took place around 4 p.m. Friday.

Following a crash involving six vehicles, a portion of I-84 westbound between Exits 10 and 9 is closed, The Hartford Courant reports.

State police told Patch at 4.50 p.m. Friday that the scene remained active and was in the process of being cleaned up.

The accident was reported at about 3:50 p.m. said the state's Department of Transportation, according to the Courant.
