Driver Arrested for DWI After Accident Near Sand Hill Plaza
Police say the driver tried to leave the scene of the one-car collision.
A New Haven man was arrested for involvement in a one-car accident just north of Sand Hill Plaza about 5:23 p.m., according to reports from the Newtown Police Department.
Police say they responded to find the driver -- Angelo Ciotti, 49, of New Haven -- trying to leave the scene of the accident, but were able to stop the car and investigate. Ciotti was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and making a restricted turn.
Ciotti was released after posting $250 bond and will appear in court Sept. 6.
