Crews Battle Brush Fire in Sandy Hook

Newtown firefighters battled a brush fire on Toddy Hill Road Sunday afternoon.

The fire appeared to be in two separate but close locations, along the side of the road in the area of Settlers Lane.

Thick smoke was blowing in the area as crews worked to extinguish the fires.

At least one of the fires was reported under control shortly after 2 p.m., according to scanner radio reports.
