Church Hill Accident Leads to DUI Charge

Recent Newtown police reports also include a larceny charge and evading responsibility.


A Newtown man was charged with DUI after he allegedly fled the scene of a car accident at the intersection of Church Hill Road and Main Street at 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 18.

Garrett J. Clark, 29, of 24 Mohawk Trail, was also charged with evading responsibility and failure to drive right. Police said they located Clark a short time later on Mohawk Trail. He was held on a $100 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 19.

Ysidra N. Guerrero, 29, of Danbury, turned herself in at Newtown police headquarters at 10:49 p.m. on Nov. 14 and was arrested for fifth-degree larceny.

Police said the arrest stems from an incident that reportedly took place on May 19 regarding a fraudulent check. Guerrero posted a $500 bond and is due in court on Nov. 28.

Evading Arrest Made in Glen Road Accident

Lindsey F. Vanyo, 21, of Bethlehem, was arrested at 7:18 p.m. on Nov. 11 on charges of evading responsibility and making a restricted turn.

Police responded to the area of 27 Glen Road for a reported motor vehicle accident in which one of the parties fled the scene. An investigation revealed a vehicle struck the metal guard rail and fled from the scene, police said.

The involved vehicle was located a short time later in a nearby parking lot. The operator, who police identified as Vanyo, was picked up at 282 South Main St. and transported to Danbury Hospital for minor injuries, according to the report.

Vanyo was released on a promise to appear in court on Nov. 20.
