A resident who called police to report what sounded like glass breaking led officers to discover that a Barnabas Road apartment had been burglarized.

Police said the woman spotted two Hispanic males running from the area, which is located in the area of a commuter lot off exit 9 on Interstate 84.

The woman lives in a second-floor apartment on Barnabas Road, police said. There were signs of forced entry into the first-floor unit — the rear door was smashed in — and a bedroom had apparently been ransacked.

Police said no other rooms were disturbed and that nothing was reported missing.

The incident took place on March 26 and the police report was released on March 31. The time that the incident took place was not immediately available.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Newtown Police at 203-270-4229.
