On December 14th, 2012 tragedy fell upon Sandy Hook Elementary
The front doors of the school seemed to be the point of entry.
Who would have ever thought that young lives would be taken that day
Twenty beautiful little children victims of a bad man’s prey.
They never knew that day when on their way to school what laid ahead
That their teachers would be shielding them as the gunfire spread.
Not only children lost their lives on that tragic morn
Teachers lives taken, the loud speaker gave warn.
Will we never know in full what transpired that Friday morning?
Only to leave Sandy Hook residents and our nation in mourning.
There are no words to express as our hearts fill with pain
How do you explain to our children that little ones were slain?
We must pull together as a nation once more to get through
Giving prayer and strength to the families to make their lives renewed.
God received so many “special” angels that day, and we should never question why?
Our faith will get us through this; our memories of them will never die.
Let’s take this time to remember the twenty-six who lost their lives
Bless all those that lost loved ones that they somehow learn to survive.
God received twenty-six beautiful angels; heaven will never be the same
For one by one they came through the Golden Gates as God called out their name.
Sympathy and prayers will continue to touch all those in need
Always remember too that The Good Lord was only doing his deed.
