Upgrades Before Selling Your Home

Preparing your home for sale? Here are a few tips for getting it ready to sell.

Many sellers do improvements and upgrades to their homes prior to marketing the home. Some improvements make sense and some just will not be recouped.

Bathrooms and kitchens will add value to a home but your taste might not be what your buyer is going to want.

Before making improvements consider if you have made your home ready for market by making repairs and cleaning/painting first. Some times just simple organization, scrubbing and de-cluttering will be the best investment.

An experienced real estate agent can help you with suggestions and often that advice is available for no charge.

It is good to get a fresh set of eyes to figure out what might be speed bumps in the sale of your home. A good realtor can give the seller some great advice when it comes to step to be taken. Another step that we have been offering is a pre-sale home inspection. We use this type of inspection to point out issues that will come up during the the final home inspection. By having a home inspection done at time of listing the seller can deal with issues that may cause a potential buyer to walk away or consider a different home. It can also be used as a promotional tool to show potential buyer the improvement and care that the seller has put into the home.
