Nelson Gonzalez Opens Campaign Headquarters, Invites Citizens to Visit

Nelson Gonzalez, Republican candidate for state senator, recently opened his campaign headquarters at 400 Post Road in Fairfield. Gonzalez is running in the 28th District, which includes the towns of Fairfield, Newtown, Easton and parts of Weston and Westport.

“This is a great step forward in our campaign,” Gonzalez said of the headquarters opening. “Now that we have the logistics set up we are focusing entirely on meeting with voters, hearing what they have to say and telling them my plans to help get Connecticut back on track.”

Gonzalez formally announced his candidacy in mid-April, but says that his team has been working on the campaign for several months.

“We have a really great team working on the campaign, and even in this short amount of time they’ve shown their talent and passion for bringing fiscal responsibility to state government,” Gonzalez said.

The group includes Campaign Manager Zack Albert, a recent Fairfield University graduate, and Field Director Andrew Hodges, a junior Finance major at Fairfield University.

John Walker, who recently retired as the Chief Operations Officer at General Electric Asset Management, is serving as the Campaign Treasurer.

“Zack, Andrew and John have all been working hard to get the message out, but it’s not just them,” Gonzalez stated. “We have several college students who have been working on projects for the campaign, as well as some fellow retirees, active Republicans and concerned taxpayers.”

Gonzalez is pursuing the state senate nomination in the Republican primary to be held on August 12th.

“We can’t change what’s happening in Hartford if we don’t change many of the people we send there to represent us”, Gonzalez said.  “I encourage like-minded citizens to join us, and consider volunteering a little time to help straighten out the financial mess at the State Capitol,” Gonzalez concluded.

The campaign headquarters is located on the lower level of 400 Post Road in Fairfield and is currently open Monday through Saturday, 10:30 AM to 5 PM. The campaign can be reached at (203) 955-1966, or for more information go to nelsonforsenate2014.com
