TWENTY-SIX NEW ANGELS

Children anxiously await the big yellow bus

Holding Mother’s hand their ready to step up

Find out what's happening in Newtownwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

With her usual smile, Mother wishes them good luck

Thinking of hopes and dreams, where does time go

Find out what's happening in Newtownwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Seems like only yesterday she held them in her arms

She watched them ride their bikes and listened to

The sounds of them playing with their friends

No way to see the future or what life has in store

Violence in the school today, her child she’ll see no more

All hopes and dreams now lost and swept away

And all over the World people hear Angels sing:

Life is a Gift, Give Thanks Every Day  Love and be happy, take time to pray   It’s not what you have or how much you own    Life is a Gift Money Can’t Buy

The sky has new stars tonight never seen before

Remembering her little Angel each day more and more

Sharing precious memories, her child’s hopes and dreams

Those special bedtime stories and favorite ice cream

Lights seen everywhere as Christmas time is near

Twenty-Six new Angels will whisper Christmas cheer

The schoolhouse is now gone, no sounds of laughter and joy

While Heaven’s Pearly Gates are open oh so wide  As twenty-six new angels enter side by side

And all over the World people hear Angels sing:

Life is a Gift, Give Thanks Every Day  Love and be happy, take time to pray  It’s not what you have or how much you own   Life is a Gift Money Can’t Buy

Twenty-Six New Angels Now Have Wings to Fly

And the Heavens let us see New Stars in the Sky
