Janice E. Anderson, 59, Mom, Sales Training Pro, Dies

Janice E. (Murphy) Anderson, 59, of Sandy Hook died peacefully surrounded by her family Weds., Oct. 12, 2011 in Watertown, MA.

A graduate of St. John’s University in New York, she was an involved stay-at-home mom who was active in school and civic activities. Following the death of her husband, she joined Pitney Bowes developing a successful 15-year career as a sales training professional.

Anderson enjoyed traveling the world, including her annual trip to Martha’s Vineyard with her girls.

She was the wife of the late John S. Anderson and daughter of Joan H. Murphy of Massapequa Park, NY and the late James P. Murphy.

In addition to her mother, Janice Anderson is survived by three daughters, Denise N. Anderson, Susan E. Anderson, and Megan E. Dube (Michael); three brothers, James P. Murphy (Carol), John W. Murphy (Joyce), and Justin D. Murphy (Kathleen); granddaughter, Moira; and nine nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., on from 2 to 5 p.m., Sun. Oct. 16. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road at 10 a.m., Mon., Oct. 17. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
