Winifred E. “Winnie” Harrington, age 84, a longtime Newtown resident, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning September 10, 2013 at Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of Paul J. Harrington.
Winnie was born in Medford, Massachusetts on August 1, 1929 a daughter of the late John and Winifred (Dutot) Forshner. She grew up in Everett, MA and was a graduate of Everett High School, class of 1947. Mrs. Harrington and her late husband raised their family in Newtown. She had previously lived in Saugus, MA.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy J. Harrington and his wife Michele of San Diego, CA and Thomas E. Harrington and his wife Jennifer of Danbury. Winnie is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Casey, Tyler, Tessa and Phillip; and two great grandchildren, Mallory and Samantha.
Funeral Services will be held Friday Sept. 13th at 10:00am in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. To leave online condolences visit www.honanfh.com
