Sabrina Marie Valente, age 36 of Rochester, New Hampshire died unexpectedly Thursday September 19th in Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH.
She was born in Danbury, CT on March 21, 1977 a daughter of Thomas and Barbara (Lednar) Valente of Sandy Hook. Sabrina was a graduate of Newtown High School, class of 1995 and Western Connecticut State University in 2001 with a BA degree in Fine Arts. She was a pre-school teacher working with children with special needs and autism. Sabrina was a talented artist and enjoyed cooking and reading. She had a small home business where she made Cake Pops. Sabrina had been a resident of New Hampshire for seven years.
In addition to her parents, survivors include a brother, Evan G. Valente of Sandy Hook; a sister, Cherish L. Dachenhausen and her husband Jerry and their son Logan of Oxford; her paternal grandmother, Helen M. Valente of Buchanan, NY; a cousin, Mark A. Yackanich of Hoboken, NJ and 2 aunts, 2 uncles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown Thursday September 26th at 11:00am. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St. Newtown Wednesday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
