Allan D. Flynn, 72, Former Private Investigator, Dies

Calling hours are on Sunday and a funeral is planned for Monday for this Newtown resident who ran a private investigative firm.

Allan D. Flynn, 72, husband of Barbara (Falco) Flynn, of Newtown, died Wednesday, Oct. 19 at his home after a short illness.

Born in Bridgeport, Feb. 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Raymond and Ethel (Anderson) Flynn. A graduate of Fairfield College Preparatory School, he worked as a private investigator and owner of Flynn Investigations.

A resident of Newtown since 1962, Flynn enjoyed gardening and was a fan of the New York Yankees baseball and Giants football teams.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Timothy A. Flynn of Oxford and Brian D. Flynn of Waterbury; a daughter, Deborah A. Flynn, of Woodbury; a brother, Thomas Flynn, of Milford; two grandsons, Alec R. and Kyle A. Flynn of Simsbury; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard M. Flynn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown on Monday, Oct. 24 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Newtown.
