The NYA Sports & Fitness Center (NYA), a local 501 (c)(3), recently announced the promotion of Dorrie Carolan to Executive Director. Ms. Carolan has been a key leader within the organization, managing the facility's Fitness Center, since opening, in 2008. Most recently, Ms. Carolan has served as Co-Director of the 90,000 square foot facility.
In her new role, Ms. Carolan will work closely with the Board of Directors, led by Ms. Maggie Conway, and Founder, Mr. Peter D'Amico to further promote the NYA's mission to inspire the community's health and wellness. Ms. Carolan will lead a very dedicated and professional team in fulfilling the evolving fitness and social needs of Newtown and surrounding communities.
The NYA Sports & Fitness Center inspires Newtown and surrounding area residents, particularly the youth, by hosting and facilitating affordable and sponsored programs, that promote health, fitness and general well being, such as community events, fitness, training, and sport competitions.
