From a CT Second Grade Teacher

The most profound Christmas gift I received last year was from my 34 year old nephew who is finally pulling his life together after a troubled youth.... He and his girlfriend gave me a silver plated bookmark engraved with the words, "To protect and teach." I was overwhelmed by this simple heartfelt recognition of the shared pain and responsibility that all teachers felt in the wake of your terrible loss and grief in Sandy Hook.... Their show of appreciation was a simple act of kindness towards me that I hope I have paid forward and continue to do so by living up to its creed. Bless you all!
