Caring thoughts across the pond

Last December the world cried with the people of Newtown.  I attended Christmas Eve Mass with my husband and daughter at a church in the town of Letchworth, UK.  During the prayer petitions, the priest and congregation specifically prayed for the children, teachers and people of Newtown.  Sitting in my pew on Christmas Eve, that made me cry and I told the priest as I left Mass how much that moment of remembrance meant.  It showed me that the face of the world and people in general are caring, good and kind.  Knowledge of that is what is surely helping the folks in Newtown heal.  On the anniversary of a tragedy, we continue to care and pray for those who left this earth and those who are missing them.
