My name is Nereida Vazquez and I am an artist in Rochester, NY, as well as a mom. The tragedy at Sandy Hook left me so heartbroken for the victims and their loved ones, that I wanted to honor them in the only way I know how. So I painted a tribute for the sole purpose of giving it to Newtown in hopes that it will, one day, become part of a permanent memorial. But after news that that town officials need people to stop sending any material goods, I don't know what I should do. I don't want to see it destroyed, and I don't want it ending up in some ones hands to profit monetarily in any way because that was never my intention. I'm hoping that maybe someone in your town may see it and want it for a permanent tribute in Newtown because I just want to give it to where it will honor these 20 beautiful children and 6 amazing woman best.
