An early season nor'easter swept into the state on Wednesday November 7th, leading to at least 2 traffic fatalities, snarling highways well past the evening rush hour, and sparking new fears of flooding and erosion among those still reeling from the effects of storm Sandy.

Thursday, November 8th, the impact of the storm caused some towns to delay the opening of schools or to close them all together.

In Newtown, there at least two calls were powerlines had caught on fire. Newtown Emergency personel where dispatched and no one was hurt.
