Santa for SandyHook Heros

Santa for Sandy Hook.. How does it sound to Newtown?

My name is Lynn Samperi and I am a resident in Wallingford, CT.Both my husband and I dress as Santa and Mrs Claus for many state events, events at senior centers and local schools and day cares. We have been brainstorming a way we could personally help the town of Newtown and especially the children and families of our lost heroes. My husband and I would like to come to Newtown as Mr and Mrs Claus with green and white candy canes of hope for all.  However we want to have permission as we understand how overwhelmed the town must be. I have written to the superintendent of schools and the first selectwoman but they are both obviously busy with handling this tragedy. I wrote to the editor of the Patch and her recomendation is that I send this out in a blog to see what the response from the Newtown commmunity is.

I have mentioned the possibility to many and all think it would be wonderful for the children to get a hug from the season representative or his wife. We will travel door to door if that is what the residents want, but we want to only do what is right for Newtown. Please cast your opinion on this blog so that with the assistance of the Patch we can arrange for this to happen.

With a heavy heart,

Lynn and Gary Samperi

I remember years ago that not all of the information about the Kennedy death and assassination wouldRead More not be unsealed until 2017, so why not be able to seal the records of these deaths for the same amount of time?

To further support my support of Aurelia, the letter above states it was the New York Post thatRead More wanted the details. Good for you town clerk! I goggled the Connecticut Council on Freedom of Information and they are indeed nothing more than a non-profit group. They are not a government agency. And an inept one - their own website is a mess. What clowns.- http://ctcouncilfoi.org/

Town Clerk Aurelia is already causing the town to needlessly spend money defending her derelictionRead More of duty: "An attorney representing the town, with the law firm Cohen and Wolf, issued an opinion in response to the, (New York), Post's request stating that the public is only allowed to view death and marriage certificates that are "at least one hundred years old." Cost aside she is pushing for a state law that would restrict access to a minors birth certificate for 6 months, she originally wanted them sealed for 10 years. The only thing the proposed law is going to accomplish is the healing that has been accomplished is going to be undone when the seal expires. This is much ado about nothing. http://www.newstimes.com/local/article/Newtown-officials-withhold-death-certificates-4526713.php
