The Newtown Beautiful Baby Photo Contest is currently looking for cute photographs of children (newborn – 4 years of age) to help raise money for Newtown’s First Responders and the 26 families directly hurt by the tragedy in Sandy Hook. The child need not live in Newtown to enter. The winning child’s family will win prizes, have their photo published in local newspapers, and ride in a chauffeur-driven Mercedes of Danbury convertible in Newtown’s Labor Day Parade.
The 4-by-4-inch photos are placed on a wooden easel, with a piggy bank slit above each picture. The public votes with dollars or checks for the cutest child. The child whose photograph raises the most amount of vote money wins. As always, 100 percent of the money raised goes to charity.
To enter a contestant, send a $10 check made payable to "Newtown PBA" (Newtown Police Benevolent Association) and a nonreturnable 4-by-4-inch photo with the baby's name, contact phone number, and e-mail address written clearly on the back to: Beautiful Baby, c/o Lois Barber, 33 Zoar Road, Sandy Hook CT 06482.
100% of money raised by votes will be divided between the “My Sandy Hook Family Fund” which directly helps the 26 families affected directly by the Sandy Hook tragedy with support and financial help, The Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire Company, and The Newtown Volunteer “ambulance Corps.
The Contest kicks off on June 7th at Sandy Hook Fire House’s Lobsterfest and will then have a 2-week run at Stop & Shop Supermarket, Sand Hill Plaza, Newtown. Please email babycontest2010@gmail.com or call 203 270-8017 with any questions.
