Newtown History Buffs: Let's Find This Mysterious Pancake Recipe

Courtesy of the Newtown Patch blogs, here's your delicious history mystery of the day: blogger Sean Bennett claims he knew an elderly Newtown woman who made "the best pancakes, maybe the best in world."

He writes:

A nice elderly woman made the best pancakes, maybe the best in world. And she grew up in Newtown in early 1900s. I recall them having yeast and setting on the table out in porch overnight. She wrote down many recipes but I cant find this one. Many children grew up in her home during the 30s, the depression put many kids on the "state " as people say. thats another blog, do you think they wanted that ?.. OK pancakes, do we have anyone that knows about these pancakes? I am hoping someone has it written down. It would be at least 60 to 100 years old.

Here at Newtown Patch, we're big pancake fans — maybe the biggest in the world. And we'd like to help Sean find this mysterious pancake recipe so he can share it with the town. (To tell the truth, we wouldn't mind trying out the recipe ourself for some Sunday morning.)

So if this woman or her recipe rings a bell, let us know in the comments. The hunt is on!
