Please Shine Down Your Love

(This poem was written by me, Katherine Kinsey, to express the love and sorrow most all of us feel for the victims of this tragedy.)

Please Shine Down Your Love

Sweet angels now in Heaven
For you we all mourn
So little time on earth you were given
Our hearts forever torn

We will never fully know
We could not possibly understand
Why from the world you had to go
Rest in peace now in our Father's hands

In this place there's so much hatred
But where You are is full of grace
Please shine down Your love upon us
And dry the tears that leave our face

Evil is always among us
No matter where we go
We have all but forgotten you Lord
In our schools and in our homes

Our defense against such hate
Is to always teach Your love
To show Your mercies every day
So it may rain down from up above

God bless those teachers who kept
Those babies quiet and hidden
Bless Lord the first responders who wept
At the task that they were given

God bless the ones who lost their lives
Trying to protect the young
Help their memory live on for life
To remind us right from wrong

Lord we know you hear our cries
Your grace is never far
Though so many lost their lives
They are safe now in Your arms

Even during such cloudy times
When all our hearts are broken
Let your mercies forever shine
Let that sunshine be our token

To show us that with evil's might
As hard as Satan tries
There will forever be Your light
To lead us through dark times

We grieve Lord and we know
That You see our sorrow
Please bless us Lord and comfort us now
And brighten each tomorrow

Rest well sweet angels know you're loved
And know that we all pray
We pray our love be sent above
To be with you every day.

Amen.
