Hugs & Hope

Need volunteers to give hugs and hand out 200 Build-A-Bears on Christmas Day in Newtown, CT. These bears are for everyone that have been affected by this horrible tragedy.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Katherine Ciotti and I am a mother of a 2 year old and live in Edison,NJ. The tragedy that occurred at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT has impacted me and the entire world. 20 innocent children were taken away from us and 6 heroic adults that protected the children until the end of their lives.

I have decided to spend Christmas Day with my family in Newtown, CT delivering bears to each person that was affected, young and old. Growing up as a child a stuffed animal or bear would bring me a lot of comfort and I would like to provide the same for those in CT. I contacted Build-A-Bear and purchased the bears with my own money yesterday and they will be delivered to my home just before Christmas. I am very fortunate to say that I have wonderful friends, family, colleagues, strangers that have donated to this cause to make this happen. I set up a Facebook Page and it has the current updated information. I have been in touch with The Newtown Police Department and they will be helping me with the location.

Feel free to suggest this page to your friends. If you would like to help my family, and friends hand out these bears PLEASE inbox me and let me know what you can do to make Christmas Day in Newtown, CT the best Christmas EVER. It will certainly will be a memorable one for my family.

Each person that receives a bear will also receive a big hug from us to provide a little hope and comfort. What occurred at the Sandy Hook Elementary School will never be forgotten and may the little angels that were taken away from us may you rest in peace.

Spread the love,

Katherine Ciotti

I remember years ago that not all of the information about the Kennedy death and assassination wouldRead More not be unsealed until 2017, so why not be able to seal the records of these deaths for the same amount of time?

To further support my support of Aurelia, the letter above states it was the New York Post thatRead More wanted the details. Good for you town clerk! I goggled the Connecticut Council on Freedom of Information and they are indeed nothing more than a non-profit group. They are not a government agency. And an inept one - their own website is a mess. What clowns.- http://ctcouncilfoi.org/

Town Clerk Aurelia is already causing the town to needlessly spend money defending her derelictionRead More of duty: "An attorney representing the town, with the law firm Cohen and Wolf, issued an opinion in response to the, (New York), Post's request stating that the public is only allowed to view death and marriage certificates that are "at least one hundred years old." Cost aside she is pushing for a state law that would restrict access to a minors birth certificate for 6 months, she originally wanted them sealed for 10 years. The only thing the proposed law is going to accomplish is the healing that has been accomplished is going to be undone when the seal expires. This is much ado about nothing. http://www.newstimes.com/local/article/Newtown-officials-withhold-death-certificates-4526713.php
