Thank you for the outpouring of support during the tragedy in Newtown/Sandy Hook. Leslie Gunn, the art teacher at Sandy Hook School, was a witness to the terror of December 14th. She, like other heroic teachers and staff that day, was able to protect her students in a locked room and eventually lead them - with eyes closed - to safety.
The chlidren of Sandy Hook School will return to a different school building in January. As they begin to adapt to new surroundings and routines, they'll also be working through very difficult issues.
We all know that expression through art can be a healing experience. "Healing Sandy Hook Through the Arts" is a non-profit organized to help finance special arts projects, therapy programs, and supplies needed to enhance the healing process of the students of Sandy Hook Elementary.
