Memorial426 is a local effort to bring together our community and resources to promote a positive dialogue regarding a permanent memorial for our Sandy Hook victims and to construct a new school.
Memorial426 was created by Newtown residents for Newtown residents. To foster the healing process in the wake of the tragic events that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012, in Sandy Hook, Connecticut.
The goal of Memorial426 is twofold:
1. Create a groundswell of support to design and erect a memorial park on the current site of Sandy Hook Elementary School. To permanently honor those lives lost on that fateful December morning, we are asking for donated or volunteered labor and materials from area residents and businesses.
2. In the near future we will gather tax-deductible donations in order to build a new Sandy Hook Elementary School at a new location in Sandy Hook, CT. We will be asking for monetary contributions from our global community to help us realize this dream.
Help us to recover and rebuild. Please email us at info@memorial426.org
and we will notify you when the Memorial426.org website goes live.
Memorial426 will never share or sell your email address. We will use it only for the purpose of contacting you.
Memorial426 is in the process of applying for non-profit, or 501(c)(3), status with the IRS.
Remember, your thoughts, words and actions matter. Foster a more civil nation — one community at a time — by practicing kindness, empathy and love as often as possible.
