On Monday, the students at Westover School in Middlebury handpainted ornaments, decorating them with designs and messages of love and support to the residents of Newtown and Sandy Hook. Six boxes of these ornaments were delivered by a student who is also a Newtown resident to one of the youth crisis centers to be distributed by social services. This project was the first of a handful that Westover students undetook this week to show their support for nearby Newtown, as they also did cookie and ribbon sales as fundraisers and wrote out prayer cards to hang on the school's tree.
