Newtown 10s Sweep for District Championship

The Newtown Renegades won three straight to claim the District 5 title in the Cal Ripken 10U division. The Renegades beat Oxford 7-3 and Southbury 7-3 and 6-4 in the series. Joey Rios and Josh Taylor led the pitching for the series, striking out a combined 11 batters in the championship game and 26 overall. Offensively, the Renegades were paced by Matt Bradbury, CJ Demers and Jared Dunn. The Renegades go to on defend their Connecticut State Cal Ripken title in tournament play this weekend.
