WordPress Hosting that Will Make You Proud

WordPress is a powerful publishing platform that deserves quality hosting. Invest in the experts and it will pay off over the long run.

I didn’t start with hosting built for WordPress. I paid for it too. After experiencing my first “weekend outage”, I was done. The large, commercial host is often more affordable…but don’t be fooled, there is a reason. Cheaper hosting means less security, less space, and often more problems. Avoid all that and go with the guys who aren’t afraid to say “we only work with WordPress”. It’s worth it.

Settling with a Godaddy, Bluehost, or Wix will save in the short-run, but once the traffic comes you could very well have a nightmare on your hands. These roads often end with broken web sites and/or additional costs to get things back to normal.

Don’t Play Around with Hosting. Get the Good Stuff.

Here at iTribe we consider WordPress as the best way to do a web site. We did homework, and this is what we got. Synthesis is the best way to host a WordPress site, and hosting is really important. This will ensure your site is fast, secure, and scalable when the time comes.

There are a number of great options out there, but in our opinion Synthesis stands out as a company we can entrust with something as important as web hosting.

The Birth of Synthesis

I first read about Synthesis on Copyblogger and was intrigued by the company’s emergence into the hosting realm. They make it a point to do servers the right way, fine-tuned for WordPress, basically kicking ass by offering solutions that used to be reserved for the corporate elite.

Synthesis was rolled out of Copyblogger, a media company that started in 2006 as a blog run by one guy–Brian Clark. By 2011 Copyblogger was seeing 2.5 million page views every month, demonstrating the power of effective and meaningful content.

The waves of traffic Copyblogger was receiving from web site links and social media sharing broke their web site. I can’t imagine how frustrating this must have been. Brian Clark found his time being taken from core business work, having to spend time making sure the site was up and running instead of figuring out how to better serve the rapidly growing Copyblogger community.

Orangecast, led by Derrick Shaefer, was a group of internet entrepreneurs stirring things up in the sports blogging scene pre-2009. Racking up the page views and seeing growth comparable to Copyblogger, Orangecast was running into similar server issues. If only Derrick and Brian would link up and create the best WordPress hosting to date! Oh wait, I think they might have.

Brian and Derrick joined forces in early 2011, eventually rolling out Synthesis as a premier solution for those who are serious about hosting WordPress. With Derrick’s custom server stack able to deliver the publishing power Copyblogger was in need of, the missing puzzle piece was found. Copyblogger was able to overcome the frustrating problem of attracting too much traffic by having a hosting solution that was fast and could scale.

“Synthesis” was derived from Copyblogger’s movement toward a complete publishing and content marketing platform, a solution offering “super fast, secure, and expertly supported hosting”. It took me one visit to the Synthesis web site to know that I wanted to be on their team.

So What’s the Point?

Using WordPress is a whole new experience when pages load super-fast and there is no worry of a traffic surge or malware attack blowing out your whole setup. Extraordinary service, friendly communication and helpful support separates Synthesis from the pack, at least from my experience.

I care deeply about helping others focus less on solving hosting problems and more on doing the work they love, which is why I wrote this post.

Please ask away if you have any questions about this stuff; to get the most out of WordPress it’s really important to take a look at where you will be hosting your site and make sure it’s a reliable fit.
