Newtown's Thanksgiving Week Forecast

When you're doing last minute grocery store runs, here's what the National Weather Service is predicting for Newtown the week of Thanksgiving.

Tuesday: The forecast calls for a 50 percent chance of rain and snow, mainly before noon. High near 39. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.

Tuesday Night: The night will start with rain and sleet, before switching to all rain after 10 p.m., the NWS reports. There's a 100 percent chance of rain and precipitation that could be heavy at times.

The temperature is predicted to rise to 47 degrees by 5 a.m. Wednesday morning. Winds may gust as high as 23 mph, the NWS reports.

Wednesday: There's a 100 percent chance of precipitation and one to two inches of rain may fall. Rain could be heavy at times. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. High near 58 degrees.

Wednesday Night: The NWS is predicting a 40 percent chance of rain and snow overnight. Temperatures will fall to around 26 degrees and winds may gust as high as 33 mph. 

Thanksgiving Day: 
No precipitation is in the forecast for Thanksgiving Day. The NWS forecast calls for a sunny, breezy day and a temperature of around 32 degrees. Gusts may get as high as 37 mph.

Thanksgiving Night: The night will be mostly clear, with a low of around 19 degrees.

Friday: The NWS is calling for a sunny day, with a high near 33 degrees.
