The NHS Girl's Varsity Tennis team has had one of their best weeks ever. Monday, May 14th they played Masuk High School away at Wolfe Park. The team won 6-1! Then on Wednesday they played Joel Barlow for the second time this season. The result a 6-1 win! This match was very intense because it determined the #1 and #2 seed for SWC's. Newtown came in strong and crushed their opponent.
Thursday, May 17th match was NHS vs. Laurelton Hall at Treadwell Park which resulted in once again a victory. The final score was 6-1. All the matches showed competitive match play. This match was the semi-finals for SWC's. The seed rankings are Newtown-1, Joel Barlow-2, Weston-3, and Laurelton Hall-4. All teams played hard to get into these top spots. The bracket is that seed 1 plays 4 and seed 2 plays 3. Joel Barlow won and will now face Newtown in the finals on Monday at NHS back courts at 3:45. The girls are so excited. Coach Maher and Asst. Coach Frazzetta could not be more pleased. Their very proud and for the first time in years the girl's team has a good chance at an SWC title.
