Its Been a Wonderful Ride for the Newtown Girls Tennis Team

Newtown HS Girls Tennis season finish the team season strong!

The NHS Girl's Varsity Tennis team has finished their season as a team. June 2nd at Yale is the States Individual tournment but as a team the 2012 season has come to a close. On Wednesday the girls played Fairfield-Ludlowe at NHS back courts. The team won 5-2! On Thursday the girls faced Greenwich away and unfortunately lost 3-4. The girls got much further than last year and had a great time along the way. However, the rankings for States class L were very competitive. The rankings were as followed:1- Greenwich2- Glastonbury3- New Canaan4- Newtown5- Fairfield-Ludlowe6- Amity7- South Windsor8- Staples9- Naugatuck10- Newington
For more information on the rankings and overall results: http://www.casciac.org/brackets/gtn2012L.html
Aside from Individuals it has been an awesome season! The girls became a close knit team and even ran a 5k together this past weekend. The 5k was called Color Me Rad in Hartford. The race was so much fun! The girls are looking forward to next season! I am so happy I got to write this season and cannot wait to report back next year!

They call all folks in local area and alert (I've already gotten a call!); then they send faxes out to vets and animal control in surrounding areas. You can contact me or Laura Dorr on FB.
