In the wake of December 14, HealingNewtown was created to facilitate, support, and coordinate all arts efforts made on Newtown’s behalf today, tomorrow and into the future.

The project is managed by the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission and supported by The Town of Newtown, and The Connecticut Office of the Arts.

Why is this project important to the community?

Immediately following the Sandy Hook tragedy, Newtown was flooded with artistic contributions nationwide, including donations of artwork, materials, supplies, equipment, proposals for memorials, services for programs and workshops, and multiple fundraising efforts specifically for the arts. Newtown Cultural Arts Commission is responsible for managing this incredible outpour of support, which continues today.
