Sandy Hook Stables-a project for Newtown

Sandy Hook Stables-a project to help heal and be dedicated to the Newtown community

We have a plan for a project that will be a living tribute to the victims and their families. In addition, the facility will be dedicated to the Newtown/Sandy Hook community.

It will be a facility where children and their families can interact with horses.

We will be providing nearly every aspect of horsemanship including a special education incentive program.

The property will have a dining facility, a general store (similar to Cracker Barrel), a farrier/blacksmith building, arenas, an auditorium for live entertainment and hosting local events. The entire facility will have an old-world New England atmosphere and will include hay rides, sleigh rides, and carriage rides.

Our project plan began over a year ago but lacked a destination or "cause". The cause is not because of the tragedy but the "cause" is Sandy Hook Stables and what it can do to assist in the healing of Newtown.

As a parent that also lost a child, many years ago, after 45 years a scar still remains. It is something I deal with every day and cope with it.

We do not want Newtown/Sandy Hook to ever become "old news" or ever allow all those affected to be forotten into pages of history.

There are far more details involved in our project and too lengthy to put here. Many major sponsors/investors are on-board as are several celebrities.

I visited Newtown recently and most eveybody I met with, liked our project plan.

We will be seeking local people as staff members and a few people to be on the board of directors. Our facility will help to create jobs and help the local economy.

The most important factor is something good happening after such a horrible event.
