Unveiling of Sandy Hook Healing Mural

Unveiling of Sandy Hook Healing Mural - Glass art-ist and handyman Will Turey (willturey.com) from the neighboring town of Bethel has donated a stained glass mural (2'x2') to the town of Newtown so it may help in the healing process with the one year anniversary of the tragedy in Sandy Hook.

The mural has two large white feather like angel wings that are hugging a green (green is the universal healing color) healing heart in the middle, a violet focal point leading to the Sandy Hook angels above that are represented by pewter angel medallions and blue sky in the upper corners to give off a sense of brighter days.

Leonardo Da Vinci once proclaimed that you can increase the power of meditation tenfold by meditating under the gentle rays of violet, as found in church windows.

There is a family connection for Mr. Turey with the tragedy.  His niece, Jennifer Turey Draghi (better known as Miss Jen) runs a dance school in Newtown (Dance Etc.) and three of her darling students were victims of 12/14/12.

The mural will be displayed at Dance Etc. (117 Mount Pleasant Road - Rt.6) for public viewing night and day until a permanent home is established by the town of Newtown.

The title of the mural is "Our Hearts Go Out To Our Angels", and Mr. Turey's heart definitely goes out to all who have suffered a loss.
