Special Olympics Torch Run at Foxwoods® Resort Casino on June 4

Foxwoods® Resort Casino will host the third leg of the kick-off to the 2014 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut on June 4 with a special ceremony where athletes and officers will carry the Special Olympics’ "Flame of Hope" to the opening celebration.  Over 1,500 athletes and law enforcement officers are expected to cover over 530 miles in the three-day race to raise awareness and support for the Special Olympics CT.

Spectators are encouraged to come out and cheer for these officers representing local, state, federal and correctional agencies as they carry the torch throughout their neighborhoods to the rally. As part of the ceremony, Foxwoods and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation will also present a donation to Special Olympics CT in support of the 2014 Summer Games.

Since 1992, Foxwoods and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation have supported Special Olympics Connecticut by hosting yearly fundraising events and through event staff support provided by hundreds of Foxwoods team members. For the last 21 years, Foxwoods has also sponsored the aquatics venue at the Summer Games.
