Renowned Gospel Choir to Perform at Newtown Synagogue to Honor Martin Luther King

In recognition of Martin Luther King Day, Congregation Adath Israel of Newtown, CT will host a renowned Hartford gospel choir in the synagogue sanctuary at 7:30 .m. Friday January 17th. Voices LLC, of Hartford CT, will perform at 115 Huntingtown Road, Newtown, to honor the legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The entire community is invited.

"It is an honor and a privilege to be invited to share our music with the Jewish community of Newtown at the Sabbath worship service,” said Paula B. Gripes, Voices business manager. “We feel the sharing of our traditions is a wonderful way to learn and to befriend our communities." 

The choir will ascend the stage at approximately 8:00 pm after a traditional Hebrew prayers service beginning at 7:30 pm. Refreshments will be served when the program ends at 8:45 pm.
