PeaceJam and Newtown!: Transforming Tragedy --- Youth from all across Newtown are invited to come together to explore and celebrate the community that they live in! The day will include opportunities for young people to connect with each other around the idea that one event does not define who you are, or what you can offer the world. The day will include opportunities for youth to share what inspires them, to talk about their hopes, their struggles, their experience in the last year since 12/14. We will be privileged to have Edie Lutnick join us to talk about her experience transforming the tragedy of the twin tower tragedy 12 years ago, and how she and the other families of Cantor Fitzgerald have moved forward. Finally we will also come together to create a community project that represents our work throughout the day, we will be creating a communal image of what Newtown really means to its young people and what their hopes and aspirations are for their town, and their lives, along with sending those aspirations into the world through helping make beads for Ben's Bells!
