JOIN TEAM JULIA'S RUN KICK-OFF EVENT AT THE KENT PUMPKIN RUN

Run With Team Julia’s Wings

Sherman, CT – Team Julia’s Wings is making big strides and growing weekly as it plans to participate in the Kent based Pumpkin Run on October 27th.  Festivities begin with a kid’s Fun Run at 11:15am followed by a 5 mile run/walk at Noon.  The USATF certified course begins at Kent Town Hall with live music, refreshments and more.

To join the Team, participants are asked to raise a minimum of $40 although many team members have set their goal at a higher amount. All donations go directly to JWF to support families with a child fighting life threatening blood disorders.

“Through our Lead Sponsors, The Lazarus Family and FSM Services, team members will have their registration fee covered, and receive the Kent Pumpkin Run and a Team Julia’s Wings Shirt to wear at the event.  “We are very grateful to our sponsors for making this possible” said event co-organizer, Heather Malsin.

JWF was founded by the Malsin Family after they lost their daughter Julia, and big sister to Alyssa, after a year long battle against Aplastic Anemia, which is a rare bone marrow failure disease.  Julia was 13 years old.
Julia’s family created the JWF in loving memory and celebration of their daughter. JWF is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to families of children with life threatening hematological diseases and to medical professionals for healthcare research. The foundation provides financial support to these families to cover costs of travel, lodging, and other living expenses for qualified participants.
