Changing displays representing the history of a rural New England town once dotted with farms and mills.  Current exhibits include vintage photographs of winter scenes and portraits of David and Mary Lum, who owned and operated the Oxford House from 1865 - 1873.  At 3 p.m., Seymour Historical Society curator Marion O'Keefe will present an illustrated talk on P. T. Barnum, Tom Thumb and the Tornado, describing how news of a tiny boy who did not grow brought the circus giant to Bridgeport, changing both their lives.  Mrs. O'Keefe will also speak about the tornado that badly damaged the Barnum Museum, and about the ongoing efforts to restore the building.  The Oxford Historical Society will display a pink, satin covered pillow from its collection that once belonged to Tom Thumb.

Admission is free for Oxford Historical Society members and for children under 12; the fee is $3 for non-members.  Refreshments will be served.
