The Sandy Hook Healing Project

The Grassroots Fitness Project from NYC and The Gym from Southbury have come together to create The Sandy Hook Healing Project. This is a non-profit effort to bring healing of all kinds to the community. Massage therapists, Reiki practitioners, Acupuncturists, Counselors, etc. will all be available free of charge to anyone who needs some healing.


The Sandy Hook Healing Project Hours of Operation
December 21st Friday 4-8pm
December 22nd - 23rd Saturday and Sunday 10-6pm
December 24th Christmas Eve 9-4pm
December 25th Christmas Day 12-4pm
December 26th - 28th Wednesday-Friday 1-8pm
December 29th Saturday 10-6pm


Adults and Children are all welcome to this community experience. Appointments are not necessary.

We are looking for volunteers to help us with the event in anyway possible,


If you are a bodywork practitioner (massage, reiki, acupuncture, etc...) or practice any other healing modality such as psychology, psychiatry or counseling

If you can offer a meditation or movement class, such as yoga, pilates or intensati please email Ann Glaser at aglaser@thegym.com



If you would like to help create the space, please be at the location Wednesday, December 19th anytime after 10am.
Supplies needed: mats, massage tables, curtain dividers and partitions, tables, chairs, rugs, blankets, lights, wall hangings, candles, space heaters and couches....anything to make it a sacred, warm, welcoming place.
