The S.H.A.C.K., Sandy Hook Arts Center for Kids, invites the community to our first FREE art event on Mon. Jan. 21 from 10am-5pm at Fun Kuts, 111 Church Hill Rd.

Children will make a peace sign craft to symbolize World Peace and carry on Martin Luther King’s vision of a peaceful nation. Activities: Peace sign painting, face painting, puppet show, healing drum circle, a visit from a therapy dog from Animal Assisted Therapy Services, Inc. & more! 

EVERYONE needs to RSVP via email. Sandy Hook families are given first priority. 

Slot #1) 10am-11am therapy dog & art

Slot #2) 11-12 puppets  & art

Slot #3) 12-2 art & drum circle

- drum circle 1-1:45

Slot #4) 2-4 art & drum circle

- drum circle 2-2:45, therapy dog 3-4

Slot #5) 4-5 therapy dog & art 


Please email sandyhookartscenter@gmail.com with the time your family is coming so we can be sure we have room for everyone. 

Cost: FREE, however cash donations for start-up costs for The SHACK’s permanent location in Sandy Hook center will be accepted.

The S.H.A.C.K. stands for Sandy Hook Arts Center for Kids and is in the process of forming our 501(c)3 which takes 6-12 months. In the meantime we have teamed up with Animal Assisted Therapy & Arts for Healing, both are already established 501(c)3's. We are a volunteer run community arts center that will soon be located in downtown Sandy Hook with the mission of providing a safe haven for kids and families to come and heal through free art, music & pet therapy. We will also offer low cost children's theatre and art classes & puppet shows.
