The Newtown Woman’s Club, GFWC, Inc. is hosting a fund raiser on Friday, December 7th at the Little Theater, 18 Orchard Hill Road, Newtown.  The Town Players are presenting The Underpants, by Carl Sternheim and adapted by Steve Martin.  Tickets are $25 each, and include wine and cheese at 7:30 PM. Curtain is at 8 pm.  A raffle will be held during intermission.  This performance contains adult themes and may not be appropriate for children under the age of 12.  Be prepared for a laugh-filled evening.

The performance is about Petty German bureaucrat Theo Maske, who has an unusual problem: his wife’s underpants just won’t stay on. One ordinary Sunday morning, they fell off right in the middle of town, creating a very unwelcome scandal. The mortified Theo, worried about not only his standing as a citizen but also his position in the local bureaucracy, is determined to keep Louise at home until she can find a more decorous pair of undies. Amid this chaos, the straitlaced Theo is also trying to rent a room in their flat – but the prospective renters have some underlying surprises of their own.

That wild and crazy guy, Steve Martin, brings his legendary comic genius and sophisticated literary style to this classic 1910 farce by Carl Sternheim.

Please contact Marilyn at 203-426-6340 if you are interested in purchasing tickets for this benefit performance. For more information, visit ncw-gfwc.org.

I remember years ago that not all of the information about the Kennedy death and assassination wouldRead More not be unsealed until 2017, so why not be able to seal the records of these deaths for the same amount of time?

To further support my support of Aurelia, the letter above states it was the New York Post thatRead More wanted the details. Good for you town clerk! I goggled the Connecticut Council on Freedom of Information and they are indeed nothing more than a non-profit group. They are not a government agency. And an inept one - their own website is a mess. What clowns.- http://ctcouncilfoi.org/

Town Clerk Aurelia is already causing the town to needlessly spend money defending her derelictionRead More of duty: "An attorney representing the town, with the law firm Cohen and Wolf, issued an opinion in response to the, (New York), Post's request stating that the public is only allowed to view death and marriage certificates that are "at least one hundred years old." Cost aside she is pushing for a state law that would restrict access to a minors birth certificate for 6 months, she originally wanted them sealed for 10 years. The only thing the proposed law is going to accomplish is the healing that has been accomplished is going to be undone when the seal expires. This is much ado about nothing. http://www.newstimes.com/local/article/Newtown-officials-withhold-death-certificates-4526713.php
