Isaac Pierce is a unique singer/songwriter/composer living in Portland, Oregon. He sees his songs as psychologic/melodic narratives. They are often catagorized as Indie-Folk. In Performance, "Pierce has a rare quality of LIVEness... his attention to the song is so complete it creates a vacuum, pulling everyone else’s attention in with it" (Ball of Wax, 4.15.2011) This gives the music a present, bouyant, and spectral quality. In recording, he often aims to capture a performance rather than create an effect.
Pierce, also collaborates with a wide array of musicians under the name: "Ten-Speed Music." Here genre/sound is determined by the sum (or greater) of individuals player's voices built upon the backbone of a given song.
Isaac Pierce began performing/recording in Chicago in 2006 with percussionist Nick Alvarez under the name "ten-speed," and has been pursuing music since 1992. "There’s so much goodness here, so much gratitude, and a blissful reservoir that remains unknown" writes Fuel/Friends (4.8.2012)
