An Overview of Local, State and Federal Government Resources for Small Business


Betsy Paynter, Jean Leonard, Nelson Merchan to speak at The Working Women's Forum.

The Working Women's Forum, an association of local professionals and entrepreneurs, will feature " An Overview of Local, State and Federal  Government Resources for Small Business"  on Wednesday April 9 at The Villa Restaurant, 4 Riverside Road Sandy Hook.  Networking and light dinner begin at 6PM followed by the guest speakers.  For reservations email register at rsvp@workingwomensforum.net or call WWF President
Pat Marlin at 203-426-7022.  The program and dinner fee is $10 for members, $25 for non-members with a cash bar.  The group
gratefully accepts canned food, personal health and beauty items for the Newtown FAITH Food Pantry.

Betsy Paynter is the Economic Development Coordinator for the Town Of Newtown.  Jean Leonard is Chairwoman of the Economic Development Commission in Newtown.  Nelson Merchan is a Business Advisor with the CT Small Business Development Center (CSBDC), which provides no-cost business advising in the greater Danbury area.  Nelson is also a Danbury SCORE chapter chairman and counselor.  
The panel will cover the range of business of support available for small businesses, locally as well as through the State of CT, and the Federal Government.  Additionally, Nelson Merchan will provide an overview of services proviced by the CSBCD and SCORE, both located in Danbury.
