$20 HAIRCUTS-A Fundraiser to Help Kitties in Need
Want To Help Save Lives of Animals In Need? Get A Haircut!
Kitten Associates, a home foster-based cat rescue group known for its successful “Kitties for Kids” comfort program in the wake of last December’s Sandy Hook school shootings, is receiving support for its work from an unlikely source. The Sandy Hook-based nonprofit has been honored as the sole Connecticut destination for BarkAID’s 50 States Tour and they want YOU to join them!
Newtown will be one of the first stops on BarkAID’s tour, headed up by master hairstylist Patrick Lomantini. This is the third annual nationwide tour whose goal is to help raise funds for neglected and abused animals. The Wichita, Kan.-based hairstylist, operator of Lomantini the Salon, envisioned the BarkAID tour as a way to bring awareness to and raise funds for local animal shelters and organizations dedicated to helping animals in need.

On Tuesday, August 6 at Salon Michele in Newtown, the BarkAid team will be joining with salon staff to do fifty or more haircuts for a suggested minimum donation of just twenty dollars each, with 100 percent of proceeds going to Kitten Associates.
The BarkAid 50 States Tour event will last from 8 AM to 8PM at Salon Michele, 6 Queen Street in Newtown. Appointments are strongly suggested and may be booked by dialing (203) 426-4247.

To ensure fun for the whole family, there will also be face painting, a cat-centric boutique, delicious baked goods for sale from DO'razio Sisiters Cheesecakes & Goodies and more.
We just hope folks remember that these will be haircuts for people, and don’t ask us to give their dogs a trim…because we might end up having to do those in the parking lot, and we're cat rescuers, not groomers!
