[VIDEOS] Sandy Hook Promise: An Emotional Call to Action

Parents whose children were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School speak — about the pain, the love, the promise. Founders of Sandy Hook Promise take the stage, too.

Sandy Hook Promise took their message to the public on Jan. 14, 2013 — one month to the day from the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School that claimed the life of 20 children and six educators and served as the catalyst for the organization.

Formerly known as Newtown United, the group is dedicated to common-sense changes that will prevent another tragedy from ever happening again.

Please provide information about the founders, board, and any paid staff. Emotional appeals are certainly effective, however, without fleshing out program goals, lobbying goals, and being candid about organization affiliates, folks don't know exactly what you plan to do with the donations.

If all the gun control advocates get their way only government and criminals will have guns. Address the liberal entitlement mentality that breeds violence (absent/deadbeat/criminal fathers) instead. Start executing people for certain crimes instead of putting them in jail with three hots and a cot. Stop rewarding mass child breeding with government freebies. I'm sorry for those that lost people in the school but it wasn't the guns fault it was the parents fault for allowing this freak to have access to guns. This was a isolated incident, the majority of gun violence takes place in cities and is committed by people who had absent/deadbeat/criminal fathers and mothers that collected government handouts. The government should not allow anyone to bear a child unless they are financially sound enough to do so without government assitance. That would slash shootings by 90 percent over time. Gun control will do little to reduce these criminal acts.

Coughlin, why don't you move to Communist China? You appear to be in complete agreement with their governing philosophies.

You are saying the the government should regulate childbirth? Doesn't your bible command you to be fruitful and multiply? Does that mean an amendment to your Constitution is more important then a commandment in your Bible?
